***sigh***
I did not want to admit defeat; I refused to give up until the last minute. But the truth of the matter is I have no LIVESTRONG™ Day venue. My last back-up turned me down today. I'm very disappointed, but several very wise women have pointed out that LIVESTRONG™ Day is not just one day. And I intend to try and manifest that idea.
Moreover, I encourage you to observe LIVESTRONG™ Day on your own. Wear yellow. Visit someone having cancer treatments to give them comfort and encouragement. Honour the memory of someone who succumbed to this wretched disease. Celebrate the life of someone who has made it through treatment.
AND, last but not least:
PLEASE go get some sweeties at Vicky Fletcher's Cookies for a Cure Bake Sale.
- WHERE: In Front of The Orem Wal-Mart SuperCenter, 1355 S SANDHILL RD, Orem, Utah.
- WHEN: Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
I'm so grateful that your surgery went well, today, Uncle Ralph. And though I know it's frightening for her, I'm glad that Grandma finally gets to go home on Friday.

Don't worry, you tried to get an event organized (it's so not your fault if they can't see the importance of an event like this) and now you're giving your readers ideas on how do have their own special Livestrong day- that's more than most people do.
I spent the morning at a local cancer hospital, just visiting people and putting smiles on their faces. Now, I'm off to a cancer hospice- the forgotten heroes of our fight.
Hugs, Henrike.
P.S.: No news on the summit yet- they said they needed more time. After we all promoted the summit so well, now lots of people applied. Anyway, I'm bringing the Livestrong Army to Europe- with the LAF investigating ideas to go global, I thought it was a good first step. This has a huge potential!

Hey girl, I appreciate what you are doing, I hope to be able to support the cause in small ways---I am amazed with all you do, even if it doesn't work out as well as you want, you are making a difference, Laura
Dear Henrike,
You go girl! I'm so proud of you for getting the LAF considering getting in on the International Battle.
As for the Summit. You tell them your airfare will be donated, that you have a pre-registered roommate all lined up, I'll kick their - pardon my French - asses if they don't take you... I think they really need you.
Dear Laura,
Thank you for always being so wonderful and supportive! You are a superlative cousin!
Much love to you both,
Kate
Kate-
I thought we agreed on the fact that you wouldn't make me cry, again ;-)
I already e-mailed Tara at the summit a couple of days ago, but she's out and about for Livestrong day, so the waiting continues. I'm so touched by your will to get me to Ohio- not quite sure I deserve all that, but I truely appreciate it! You rock!
Hugs, Henrike.
Now, Henrike, I have no memory whatsoever about an agreement to stop making you cry. I believe I just agreed that if something made you cry it would probably make me cry, too. :-)
And you so deserve it. No one could deserve it more.
YOU rock!
Dear Kate,
what happened to you?. I still waiting for your reply regarding my web site.. I can't contact you to the email address kate@tinypineapple.com, because the system says that this no longer exists!. Please, contact me to my email address.
The fact that the LAF is investigating to go global it surprised me, because months ago they said differently to me. However, I am happy for the fact that someone understood the powerful message which the LAF can send worldwide!. I am happy (again), because this means I had a good idea before this investigating "policy" by the LAF.
