One of Hawaii’s big crops is pineapples, appropriately called “the King of Fruits, by Nature Crowned.”

My initial response to seeing this postcard was, “What are leaders of the Free German Youth doing picking pineapples in Hawaii?”

But after taking a closer look I realized it was most likely just a promotional shot from the never-released made-for-TV movie, Miss Hathaway Takes A Holiday.

    …And what better way to spend a holiday than climbing through torturously spikey leaves and dark red soil in your freshly-pressed shorts, crisp white shirt and breezy silk scarf, picking painfully barbed fruits with your bare hands?!

    That Miss Hathaway was indeed a sturdy, hardworking lass.

    To bad she’s chosen such a CRAP pineapple.

    Perhpas that’s why her companion is holding up the GOOD pineapple.
