About Movable Walls

And it goes a little something like this...

Movable Walls is a site maintained by Christopher Lynn, and as such is a bit of a mess. There's art writing, but not enough to be considered an "Art Blog." There is some music writing and MP3 sharing, but not enough to be an "MP3 Blog" or "Music Blog." There some personal writing, but there aren't enough anecdotes about my cats to be considered a "Personal Blog." I point to other websites on the web, but not quite enough to be a "Metablogger." There are some cultural criticisms, but not with enough substance or authority to be taken seriously. I use Movable Type, but I try to not consider this a blog.

The name Movable Walls comes from the walls I work with as an Assistant Curator in an Art Center and Museum in Indiana. We use behemoth white walls with giant casters on their bases that we can wheel around to any of our galleries and position where we want. Then we slap some art work on them, project a video on them, or just use them as partitions to divide up the gallery and keep artworks from touching (like bread crusts to keep your gravy from infecting your Jell-O). In essence, this site is my white wall that I can move around, divide up space, and feature things I find interesting. Yeah, it's cheesy. I know.

Profession

  • Assistant Curator

Lived

  • Virginia » Utah » Kansas » Missouri » Kansas » Utah » Ohio » Florida » Illinois » Indiana (for now)

Appearance

  • Most sources say I look like John Cusack, Kevin Spacey, Edward Norton, and (according to a gas station attendant in Kentucky) Andy Kaufman. So apparently, I look homely and neurotic with a receding hairline and bad case of eye-liner-itis. Yet, I maintain that I do not have a receding hairline.
